SHELTER PAWS & CLAWS
We have, for years, supported our local Animal Shelters. We understand the wonderful work they do and the tremendous effort it takes to keep a shelter going. Along with that effort comes the struggle to fund their shelters. We would like to provide as much aid as possible to help the many animals in need. As part of our dedication we are pleased to add
SHELTER PAWS & CLAWS is our program to donate a portion of the profits from each sale to two of our local area Animal Shelters. These are
Nothing happens, but first a dream.......Carl Sandburg
Once we receive your order, we will set aside a portion of the profit in the SHELTER PAWS & CLAWS FUND.
We will earmark $1.00 for each item on your order to go to the fund. If you order 2 items, the fund will receive $2.00 & so on. At the end of each month, the balance in that fund will be distributed evenly among these Animal Shelters. It costs you nothing extra! It's just our way of giving back to these rescue efforts.
The second one, SPCA San Patricio County, is desperately in need of donations to build a shelter. They were fortunate enough to raise the money to be able to purchase some land on which to build it. We hope to help them raise the funds to build this much needed shelter.
We hope to donate more & more over the next several years. You can buy with confidence knowing part of your purchase is going to a well deserving charitable organization.
Please use the links provided for each of these wonderful organizations, visit their websites & make a donation, if you are able to. No one will appreciate it more.

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.
Due to a medical procedure, I will be unable to answer emails and calls from Dec. 15th to Dec. 26th. Your emails and contact forms will be answered and your phone calls returned, as quickly as possible.

June is Adopt-a-Cat Month!
Each year approximately 4 million cats end up in shelters. And rescue groups find themselves particularly inundated after kitten season in spring and summer. Many cats never find homes, so help the shelters by donating time or money to spay/neuter programs if you can’t adopt. If you're ready to find your perfect feline companion, check out the adoptable pets in a shelter or rescue group near you.Be sure to spread the word about Adopt A Cat Month
