If you choose the heated model, your house will come with a heating pad that is durable and easy to clean, thermostatically controlled, weather-proof for outdoor or indoor use, has a 5' 6" cord with 18" steel chew guard and only burns 25 watts of power. The heating unit takes about an hour to regulate itself but, after that, it will be warm to the touch but not "hot".
